Everyone is going to have a personal intelligence.
The first step to envisage the near-future is to plausibly extrapolate the kind of AI models that will be available. Even at much slower rates of growth than the recent past, they will be 100 times bigger than today’s models. At that point a new level of sophistication is reached and a vast range of capabilities gets unlocked.
In your wallet you have the world’s best coach, lawyer, trainer, therapist, strategist, doctor. You have something tailored to you capable of not just chatting to you but doing things on your behalf.
My co-founder at Inflection Reid Hoffman and I had a great time chatting about the implications of this at the Axios BFD event in New York recently https://lnkd.in/dT5HYPRw. Should we pause AI development given its current pace and scope? Does there need to be more coordination between developers of AI, and in what timescale?
I think these questions will only grow more serious over the next few years. I certainly have a view… what do you think? [link]
It is frightening and fascinating at the same time…
